Dear friends,

Grace and Peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Allow me to start this newsletter with an update on Kari. We had her first post op
appointment with her surgeon today, and things are looking good. She received a new
cast, and we are to report back in five weeks. At that point, it will have been nearly 8
weeks of non weight bearing for her, but the doctor doesn’t want to take ANY chances.
We can’t thank you all enough for the care that you have provided for us so far on this
third ‘go round’. We’ve appreciated every meal and message of support more than we
can say. As I continue to say, let’s keep hoping and praying that the “3rd time's a
charm”!

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my great joy in our church receiving
seven new members this past month! Isn’t it great to see new faces on Sunday
morning? Not that I’ve gotten tired of the faces that have been here, it’s just great to see
new ones mixed in! I believe a photo from the ceremony is being included with the
newsletter. So, if you haven’t met Sherry, Bruce, Mary, Danny, Ann, Chip, or Mike yet,
don’t hesitate to introduce yourself next Sunday!

And, in closing, let’s talk about Lent. We had a good turnout for Ash Wednesday, and I
hope that you all are settling into the season and spending some time in self reflection
as you consider your relationship with both God and neighbor. Speaking of our
neighbors, we’ll be gathering every Wednesday night with our ecumenical friends from
around town to enjoy food, fellowship, and devotional time. Folks from LCC, Holy
Trinity, Grace Episcopal, First Presbyterian, Saint Andrew Presbyterian, Community of
Hope United Methodist, and now also Hazelwood Christian Church will gather weekly to
share in this Lenten journey together. There will be a soup supper at 6pm followed by
some form of devotional/worship time that will vary by location and finish by 8pm. The
schedule for dates and locations will be included in this newsletter as well. I hope that
you can join us for all or some of the evenings, they are such a great time for
community building in the name of Jesus.

Your Sibling in Christ,
Pastor Robert
